AMH: A pre-U student's life

I view this camp more towards physical challenges rather than mental. why? according to the programme list, activities are gonne be conducted by ABDB 3rd Battalion and Bomba.

All set and I'm ready to go for another camping trip! Blasted off from home around 7:15am and arrived around 8:30am. Registered my name there and I'll be in the group Johny Quest. fewh it sure does relaxed my nervous a bit about the group cos i am familiar with two ppl from the group, Ida(old friend from primary school) and Sabrina(sis's friend). then liat kiri kanan, saw some familiar faces there, or many i should say. banyak ler yg ku kenal ikut, compared to last sorang pun inda :P. some of them are:-


and so on lah. can't really recall whom i saw that day. ok so first activity for the day is Ice Breaking, a perfect time to make bonds between each ppl in the group. so the ppl in my group, Johny Quest are:-

-Aiman(who seemed to be 17 year old dude)
-Azim(later found out to be a Scout who helped to organize last year's BASE camp)

nice one. they are all seemed to be friendly ppl.


okay i'll jump the story to the next chapter.

we're going to ABDB 3rd Battalion in Lumut! the place where tortures(in a fun way) are gonna be held. arrived there and woah... can't believe it's a huge place. so it was announced that i'll be in one camp with Aiman, Azim and Danny(but he didn't sleep in the tent). main activity for that afternoon, practicing ber Kawat, the military march. it wasn't that bad though. after the sun ran off from the sky, we were taught how to cook the rationed foods (yeap foods aren't gonna be ready-to-eat, cook for your ownselves). then went to sleep, which isn't that comfortable. out tent was freaking hot like sleeping inside the sun, with all of my lovers(nyamuk) infested inside the camp, plus the tent malar rubuh because many ppl tripped my tent's main string to hold up the main tiang. there's a funny thing di sebalah camp aku, which is Anas's camp. not only me thought this, most of the campers yang set their tents dakat camp si Anas thought ada a girl inside his camp! hahha. gila lu nas! haha. later we found out it's Fuad's voice tu yang macam suara bini2 atu. haha. really he sounded like a girl.



Woke up around 4:30am and then took a shower. then ate biscuit and drank hot chocolate only for the breakfast, then tarus tia go on with the main activity, The Torture. it was a very hot day. first one is just a warm-up, then go on Marathon-ing around the 3rd Battalion camp(which is huge FYI) for about many hours lah. then berehat kajap at the gym, then the next activity is kinda Amazin Race lah. the main point of this game is to run to cheackpoints listed in the given map of 3rd battalion, then do some tasks at the checkpoints.

the Military Firefighter station. The task given here required lots of energy. all this time thought menggulung2 hose reels was an easy task, but it ain't.


the Padang Kawat. did the military march here. pretty simple though, but the group got some minor mistakes though.


the Shooting Range. this is the most wanted checkpoint. we held a real gun! but it's empty bullets though, not a live one. only me wore the earplug in the group i think. i was thinking negatively about this, because i'll be holding a real weapon which can kill a person, but my excitement wanting to shoot a real gun overshadowed the fear. after the shooting, i saw empty bullets laying around the field, and i was gonna take one as a souvenier, but then kana panggil to swear that kami inda mengambil those empty bullets or else face the consequences of either kana gantung or kana tembak, in other word, death penalty lah. hahahah sure it does menakutkan aku :P. Then Sabrina's nose bleed. i thought i'll be the only one yg ada masalah darah hidung during the camp. and so what runs into my mind was "im gonna be the next one ni".


the Helipad. nothing much here. the task was quite simple, just something to do with medications like handling a situation where a partner might break his/her arm or leg.

Then off we go to lunch. still, makanan masak sendiri.

the Spotting and Traps. the task is much like "Can you find?" picture games, with the only exception this one is real one. during this time wind blew hard and it seemed to rain anytime soon. the wind was quite hard that the military tent fleww off by it. after the spot game, moved on to set a trap task, building a forest trap to trap deers and birds. after finishing it, the committees called us and stopped the activities for the day because of raining. So my group missed out two checkpoints, the Radio tranmission checkpoint and the tent somethin checkpoint. some groups didn't managed to reach the shooting checkpoint.

and that concludes the torture at ABDB 3rd Battalion, and now move on back to OGDC later that afternoon. we were announced that we'll not be sleeping at tents anymore, but we'll sleep under Big Top's roof! yay! haha. the night activity was supposed to be the Follow-The-Leader @ Traffic Park but somehow it was cancelled due to reason yg aku inda tau. so The Punisher brought us to the Theatre and we watched the movie Flight of the Phoenix, the movie which the camp's theme based on.







bangun tidur, bruce gigi, sarapan, then morning exsercise. after warm-ups we then jalan from ogdc to the Billionth Barrel Monument which is neither near nor far from ogdc. just a walk. upon reaching there besantai, then had a group pic with all of the campers. then balik semula to ogdc utk mandi2. I just bersantai2 sama si Waze and his cousins di Big Top, but then while bersantai, Waze's nose bleed. ahah. since he didn't have any tissue papers with him, i gave one packet of mine to him. he got same prob as me, constant nose bleed. by then i thought to myself again, "right i'll be the next one after him"




move on to next activity: playing some games sja.

1st: Boom/Bomb the country
-our team was supposed to choose Austria but then kna ambil dah, so we pick Bulgaria. unfortunately lost when kami slh tunjuk negeri (even we had jot down the locations of opponents :P). Last 2 standing groups were asked to menari sja to determine the winner

2nd: rubber band passing pakai straw di mulut
-pretty common game lah. you know lah mcm mna usulnya

3rd: Catwalk
-a person picked to do a catwalk, any pose, while the rest try to guess what pose is the person doing.

4th: Slipper game
-inda ku tau mcm mna kan explain ni :P


then move on to the game the Da Vinci Code. this is more likely to be a common treasure hunt blended together with ala2 Amazing race style and uses mental activities. there are 7 main checkpoints and 2 hidden checkpoints

1st Checkpoint:
-the Theatre. two ppl from the group chosen to do a cracking a message from the word given.

2nd Checkpoint:
-the ??(inda ku tau namanya :P). this one is scrambling words to reveal another word. our team's is "TWO PLUS ELEVEN". quite tough at first because the clue given is just "13". no others were given. then managed to solve it. the answer was "ONE PLUS TWELVE". ahah

3rd Checkpoint:
the Gallery. Riddle solbing. two questions, "Word which contains all 26 letters" and "When I am not measured, i will be flown away". answer is Alphabet and Time respectively

4th Checkpoint:
-Parking Area. throwing sticks into the cardboard holes with strong wind blowing ain't an easy stuff. Nabil and Waze took the task. the group wasted lots of time here. but hey, this is just a game right. no need to rush, just have a fun :P

5th Checkpoint:
-the Exhibition Hall. 3d Puzzle solving. Me and Aiman took the task. we were asked to choose either two puzzles and so i chose pandora box and have to complete it by two minutes, but we failed to :P. so kami kana suruh push-ups sja for ten times(which ain't that tough). By this time Anas's group(Van Helsing) was already at final checkpoint, searching for the treasure. haha kepayahan durg mencari.

6th Checkpoint:
-The playground. just general questions quiz. pretty simple one.

7th Checkpoint:
- The fountain. search for a parcel with our group's name on it. first we found the parcel but it wasn't for us, so we placed it where it should be, not like my last year's group. haha Farah and Ziqah should know what i mean right? and the rest of Majestic Waves. after jumpa the parcel, openend it up and got a paper with lots of texts. we then managed to crack a clue where the next checkpoint should be.

1st hidden checkpoint:
-The Gallery. back to gallery and found the commitee holding the last clue for the treasure. the clue on the paper was: "THE TREASURE IS HERE". the clue given was "Size doesn't matter". many group found this one to be a tough one, esp. Anas's group :P. but our group got it right instantly :D. we found out that the underline on the word HERE has another smaller words, "BEACH FOOTBALL". Yes! that's the last one!

2nd hidden Checkpoint:
-the Beach Football. we run as fast as we could to reach there. sudah kan sampai, ada tia Van Helsing group(Anas's group) passed by. They said only one treasure left, but then later found out to be they're bluffing cos they got the final treasure! ahah we lost just a because of a matter of time. ahah.

then habis the da vince game is.... i dont remember :P. ah yeah it's the sports. i didn't play any since my feet's fingers were badly injured by lots of walking. so i went back to big top and just berkenalan with some new friends. luan ganas bh the friends yg aku baru kenal tu sampai my tag was teared off. haha. my name was also rubbed off till what left is just "Ami". haha atu si Wafiy ketawa banar and till the end of the camp he just called me by the name, Amy. ahaha. i was chatting with one of my new friend, Zarif, then he sense something, his nose bleeds. ahahah. 3rd person i witnessed nose bleed. same story here, i gave him a packet of my tissue papers. This must be some sort of warning that my nose will be bleed anytime soon.

the night activity plg is Tech Challenge. we got a problem to solve and we need to create the device which can solve the prob. two devices needed to be built are Slingshot and a Picker. our slingshot got minor mistake so we didn't managed to win it :P. ahah just an enjoyable memory is enough.





This is the greatest day of the camp. eh wait lemme tell the stroy time tgh malam dlu. it was 2:00am, i woke up for no reason. me myself dont why i woke up. then my nose bleed tia. ahaha finally. it was raining at that time and so i had to ask the commitee to escort me to the toilet. after cleared off the bleeding, i cant sleep. ahah had to do something to make me fall asleep again. i saw Farah and her friend still awake, kan ku aga, but then malas jua ku since i'm trying to fall asleep, kan cukupkan tidur. so tidur tia ku.

morning. i didn't take shower :P. haha cos i know i'll sweat alot this time. according to programme list, we'll be heading to Bomba Shell at Panaga from OGDC, by means of WALKING. heck that's jauh kli ah for a walk. sdh halfway atu we're asked to run ahead saja. mahn! i'm not fit to do this lah. ahah. so i was left far behind lah, with some others too. but i'm not the last though :D

arrived at Bomba Shell, mendangar jap a short briefing, then do an activity conducted by them. it's another Amazing Race, but packed with more tougher physical challenges. we were warned by them that this one gonna be far more tougher than what we did in ABDB. it's gonna be worse :S. many checkpoints here to be completed.

1st Checkpoint:-
- ?? House. unkowingly, my group took one of the toughest checkpoints first. the task given seems pretty simple when the firefighters briefed us at first. 4 people bring a stretcher, run to a point about 1km from the checkpoint, collect three dummies, then back to the checkpoint. easy right? NOT! we were told the first dummy was 30kg, the 2nd one we took is 50kg, the 3rd? 80kg mahn! insane! as Danny said, "mati kli eh si mammar ni(sp?)". ahah he implies that the dummy is heavy. lost much energy here

2nd Checkpoint:-
- the Garage. simple task. but i dont know how to explain it :P. ada bad tradegy happened to me here. i felt that the bag yang aku selalu bawa tu seems to be lighter than usual. so i checked it, and found out that... I LOST MY CAMERA! daym(in azim's slang)! atu keluar semua adreanline ku. haha. i didn't put much concentration during the play. really worried about the camera :(. i suspect i must be lost it at the field where the dummies were dumped.

3rd Checkpoint:-
- ??. this one really is one of the best one. there's two hoses, and a barrel. the task is simple, just fill in the barrel with the hose. ahah someone had to hold up the barrel supaya inda gugur, so some volunteer lah yg pigang atu and eneded up diri durg basah :P. Waze malar kana direct hose kami tu :P



4th Checkpoint:-
- ?? room. Pilot and Navigator game. by this time i already informed The Punisher about my lost camera. then i just carry on with the group onto the next activity. basically the pilot and navigator are the one who played it most. the pilot is blindfolded and tasked to search the teammates scattered around the room by the bomba volunteers, while the navigator navigate the pilot. Danny became as the Pilot while Azim is the navigator.

then lunch time. the menu is kicap again :(. so i gave the ayam kicap to Aiman and so aku jadi vegetarian ja, makan sayur n nasi :/

5th Checkpoint:-
-the Station. this is kinda easy for me as the task much like what i usually did di rumah :D. 4 ppl, given with a number of cups, had to carry the cups full of water by using a long plank to a barrel, then isi barrel atu with water until the barrel reaches about 60lbs i think?

6th checkpoint:-
- a house. task, carry a hose, move it to another house, then search for another hidden hose. in our case, the hidden hose was hid underneath a tree, infested with samut. ahah

7th checkpoint:-
-another house. i went onto the field where the dummies were dumped to check out if my camera was still there... and YEAH MASIH ADA! ahah poor camera ampai2 arah field, bepanas. luckily nada yg mengambil :P. back to story... tshi chekcpoint pasal shopping. yeap shop for the items at a firetruck



eh malas lagi ku kan type panjang2 di sini. ahah i knoe kamu ngalih sdh ni kan mmbaca :P. so aku jump the story saja ke malam lah. ah btw before balik from bomba we had massive bubble bath. hahhaha



night was great. finally, makan was kana sediakan sudah :D. and it's Ideal foods :D. haha drinks sendiri sja aku bali di Ideal with Waie. and barutah ku sampat membali Ice Chocolate selama camp ani. ahah. went back to BigTop, and saw mascot ideal menari2. ahah. then i dont really remmber apada. ah yeah rehearsal for the performance. ahah this time was really enjoyable. discussing, tapi beibun. ahah. byk main2 bah the group :P. haha. si Waze lagi main2 kan si Kit, "gugur kapal terabang tarus mati" hahah which he implies masa si Kit trs tidur bh tu lps his act gugur from airplane :P. cali eh that night. word of the night lagi, "JUMBO'. ahah





this is it. the last day. no morning exercise made me felt like numb at my back :s. haha. so the day started off macam biasa la, makan2 n mandi dlu. then continue the rehearsal for the performance. only five groups out of thirteen will be chosen for another performance petang atu. ok the performance time. i think our group did great :D. though inda seberapa byk ppl yg laughed at our lamest jokes. hahahaha. inda apa la, ani pun for fun gnya lh. we didn't get it to top 5. ahah. the Top performance was by Buzz Lightyear i think, but somehow i prefered Dr. Who's performance :D. especially Roy's act. hahahhaha.



then sembahyang jumaat. the guys kana bawa ke masjid seria yg dakat atu. so this is the 2nd time i went to pray at other district's masjid, which both of them pun arah Masjid Seria ni. ahah it's quite funny for me when most of the campers were too lalah that time, then tidur masa khutbah. ahahah. yeah observed them. even me myself slept :P. but i was awoken by Waze's snore who's beside me. ahaha bekuruh si Waze tidur ah so i woke him up lah. haha.

afternoon. was given the camp shirt, n it was quite lawa, rather than last year's :P. ahah. parents came for the closing ceremony. top 5 performance group did their performance again, then some group of campers did Shuffle. i'm not quite into shuffles though. then the climax part of the camp. Slideshow orang tidur! wahaha. kabak2 ni time ni mun mua kna gambar time tidur. hahaha. luckily i wasn't in the slideshow :D. haha


after that habis tia, bidding farewell to each others ja. lots of people cried this time. yeah i understand that it's emotional, but i didnt cried though. ahah. si Waze, "Apa ni menangis?! liat aku bah, inda. Be a Man bh". haha then aku jalan2 kajp to bid farewell to fellow friends. Farah main2 menangis. hahaha. Mus majal suruh aku menangis. haha. Wafiy still called me Amy :S. and Waze later dropped his tears jua. ahah he broke his words he said earlier


lots of things jua masa the farewell but cant cerita panjang2 lagi since kamu ngalih sudah membaca kan? ahah. bah that concludes the story masa the camp :P. yeah i missed the camp now. so much fun on so few days.

What i've learned? Body size don't tell the age of a person. hahahaha. example is Aiman who seems to be 17 but actually 14 and Fatin who seems to be 14 but actually 17(she even showed her IC). haha
